  • The CT5-V Blackwing is already a formidable machine straight from the factory, combining genuine luxury with serious performance straight out of the box. This particular example was taken to a completely different level by the team at Late Model Racecraft (LMR), equipped with their 1,000hp package. LMR showcased the build after completion back in spring of 2025 on their YouTube channel, diving deeper into the setup, and displaying a few pulls, dyno run, and drivability on the street.
  • Under the hood, the factory LT4 was replaced with a 416ci engine professionally built by Late Model Engines, topped with a Kong Performance ported factory supercharger and throttle body, and fed by a custom cold air intake system. The build also includes a custom grind camshaft kit, American Racing headers with high-flow cats, and a low-side fuel system to support the power gains, all while running on pump gas.
  • Tuning was completed by LMR as well via HP Tuners on their Mainline hub dyno with an output of 863whp/760wtq on 93 octane. Because it’s a built engine, they were able to get a little more aggressive when it comes to timing during the tuning process.
  • Despite the power increase, this CT5-V Blackwing remains as comfortable and refined as ever in touring mode, making it a perfectly viable daily driver. Flip it into sport mode and the experience changes entirely.
  • The build was completed at 9,000 miles, so there’s only a few thousand miles on the setup since completion. There are no issues whatsoever, the last service was completed and documented late August of 2026.
